Nath-Panthi Havan at Mahurgad
*Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Buddhi Rupena Samsthita | Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Buddhi Rupena Samsthita | Namastasyai Namastasyai Namastasyai Namo Namah ||*
This famous verse from the *Devi Mahatmya (Saptashati)* is recited fluently by thousands, yet when its depth is explained, many say, “We already know this.” Recently, a three-day continuous Nath-Panthi traditional Havan was performed directly before Goddess Renuka Devi at Mahurgad. This Havan, conducted by *Nath Shaktipeeth*, was intended for the upliftment of all—so that devotion may awaken in people and the qualities of Satya Yuga may arise even in Kali Yuga. This is the very purpose for which the Nath Panth was established, and to maintain that current, Nath Shaktipeeth performs such Havans every month so that Guru-work remains unhindered.
Mahur’s Renuka Mata is the Kuldaivat of countless families, yet even those for whom she is not the family deity receive her grace effortlessly. From dawn to night thousands climb the mountain for darshan, supported by trustees, administrators, and police who work tirelessly to manage the flow. Situated atop a high hill, Mahurgad requires devotees to climb nearly 250 steps, though doli facilities exist and a lift may soon be added.
Throughout known history, apart from rituals performed by the temple institution itself, no other group had ever conducted a Havan there—and certainly not a Nath-Panthi Havan.
Divine Inspiration and Approval
In January 2022, when *Nath Shaktipeethadhish Narendranath Maharaj* visited Mahurgad, the Goddess granted him an inner command—a buddhi (thought-inspiration)—to conduct the Nath-Panthi traditional Havan there. This Havan, performed in Akola for over 30 years, is intended to reduce the influence of Kali Yuga on humanity.
But transforming inspiration into reality required overcoming social restrictions, trustee permissions, police clearance, governmental approval, and local acceptance. Such an event cannot occur by human will alone. Since no one in history had been permitted to conduct an independent Havan there, this could happen only when the Goddess Herself altered the minds and intellects of all authorities.
Thus the verse *Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Buddhi Rupena Samsthita* was experienced literally by everyone involved.
Seven Days of Anushthan and Three Days of Havan
Seven days of Anushthan—from 4 AM to 10 PM daily—and three days of continuous Havan in the sanctum courtyard were completed under the leadership of Narendranath Maharaj, assisted by trained Vedic practitioners. The Nath-Panthi Havan was offered beside the temple’s traditional Havan Kund.
This became the first Nath-Panthi Havan ever recorded in Mahurgad’s history.
The purpose of the Havan was:
- to enhance the temple’s management and facilities
- to strengthen devotion in all visitors
- to increase sattvic qualities and righteous conduct
- to ensure devotees experience inner purity and upliftment
Such Havans have been a Nath-Panthi tradition since the time of Swami Machchindranath.
Presence of the Divine Assembly
At the beginning of the Anushthan, Narendranath Maharaj announced: “Not only Renuka Mata, but Bhagwan Shankar, Vishnu, Brahmadev, Bhagwan Dattatreya, Ganapati, the Navnaths, Paramguru Madhavanath, and Sadguru Vyankatnath Maharaj are present here. Their divine assembly is gathered and watching this Havan.”
Every devotee arriving for darshan—knowingly or unknowingly—was under spiritual observation by these divine forces.
In the life of Madhavanath Maharaj, when he reached Girnar’s Balaji temple, Balaji himself appeared and conversed with him. Similarly, at Mahurgad the Goddess truly resides—not merely as a stone idol but as a living, conscious presence who blesses all.
As long as the sun, moon, and stars exist, Renuka Mata will continue blessing everyone who climbs her sacred mountain. Every devotee should visit her at least once a year, offering whatever is possible, praying for devotion, Guru-bhakti, purification of mind, and upliftment of life.
During the concluding ceremony, the trustees and administrators themselves said: “We could feel the spiritual effects of the Havan throughout the mountain.”
Thus the truth of the verse was revealed again:
*Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Buddhi Rupena Samsthita | Namastasyai Namastasyai Namostasyai Namo Namah ||*
