As the Feeling, So the Result

This story appears in Chapter 47 of Shri Guru Charitra. Siddha Yogi narrates a remarkable episode to Namadharak, and listening to this story is believed to fulfill all desires.

The Story of Parvateshwar – The Devoted Farmer

Shri Guru was staying in Gangapur, and His fame had spread everywhere. In the same village lived a poor farmer named Parvateshwar, a true devotee serving Shri Guru with body, speech, and mind. Every morning, when Shri Guru walked toward the Bhima–Amarja river for His rituals, Parvateshwar would stand in his field along the path and, upon seeing Shri Guru, run and fall at His feet. This continued for many days.

Guru Tests the Devotee

One day Shri Guru asked: “You greet me every day with such effort. What do you want? What is your wish?” Parvateshwar humbly replied: “Gurudev, kindly look upon my field with Your grace. I have sown jowar. Please bless me with a good harvest.” Shri Guru said: “If you truly have faith in me, then before I return from the river, cut your entire crop four fingers above the ground.” Parvateshwar immediately accepted: “Your word is sacred to me; I will obey.”

The Villagers Mock Him

He went to the village officer, asked permission to cut the crop, and promised to pay double tax. His wife and children cried, and villagers mocked him: “A foolish man! Cutting ripe crops based on a sanyasi’s joke!” But he ignored all criticism and cut the entire field.

Guru Returns

When Shri Guru returned, Parvateshwar said: “Gurudev, I have done exactly as you instructed.” Shri Guru replied: “Why did you do this? I was joking! You cut everything for nothing!” Parvateshwar answered with deep devotion: “Lord, your word is truth to me. I only obeyed. I know nothing else.” Shri Guru blessed him: “As your feeling, so shall be your result. Your determination is blessed. Great prosperity will come to you.”

The Miracle

After a few days a massive storm destroyed all crops in the village. Yet in Parvateshwar’s field, from the cut stubs, countless new shoots sprouted. His field yielded a hundredfold harvest. The entire village marvelled. His family rejoiced, and his wife apologized for doubting him. They offered worship to the Guru, who blessed them: “Lakshmi will remain in your home always.” Parvateshwar happily paid double tax and distributed half his grain to the poor.

Guru’s Teaching

Siddha Yogi explained: those with true devotion to the Guru never suffer poverty or sorrow. Whatever desire they hold with pure feeling becomes fulfilled. Prosperity flows where faith remains unwavering.

A Real Incident From Nath Shakti Peeth

When Nath Shakti Peeth purchased four acres of land at Bhaurad, Akola, a similar miracle occurred. Only the agreement was completed; the final purchase was months away. The poor farmer selling the land, out of devotion, allowed the Peeth to use the land. The crop was dried, and he expected no yield. The Peeth cleared only the needed area and built temporary structures.

Within two months, the dried crop sprang back to life. The farmer received a full cotton harvest equal to the previous year. Overwhelmed, he said: “This is all by the Guru’s grace!” This shows that the stories of Shri Guru Charitra continue to manifest even today for those with pure faith.

Teaching

One should not remain doubtful or anxious. With a pure heart, clear intention, and steady righteous action, one must continue life’s duties. The results will always match the purity of one’s feelings—exactly as the Guru teaches.
