The Goddess’s Blessing Upon the Mahurgad Havan

The Nath Panth is directly guided and governed by Bhagwan Dattatreya himself. Every action within the Nath tradition occurs through his inspiration and blessings. He provides direction, initiates activity, creates necessary circumstances, presents challenges, and ultimately removes them to reveal effortless solutions. Beside him stands *Shri Aaisaheb* — Goddess Renuka Devi.

*“Sada Sarvada Deva Sannidh Ahe | Krupaloo Pane Alp Dharishthya Pahe ||”* — Samarth Ramdas A devotee’s “small capacity” is itself a divine test, for the same God who tests is the one who provides the answers. Just as a mother teaches her child to walk, Guru Dattatreya allows the seeker to stumble, then lifts him at the exact moment he is about to fall.

This understanding is essential because such a divine experience was witnessed by all during the Nath Shaktipeeth Anushthan at Mahurgad.

Narendra Nath Maharaj Receives the Command

Last month, *Sadguru Narendra Nath Maharaj*, the Nath Shaktipeethadhish, visited Mahurgad for Renuka Mata’s darshan. During this visit he went to the Math of Sant Kavi Vishnukavi, near Matrutirtha — an awakened seat of *Goddess Saraswati*. It is said that Saraswati commanded Sant Vishnukavi at Basar: *“Go to Mahur. I shall reside upon your tongue, and through you the world shall hear the praises of Renuka Mata.”*

Mahur is the sacred home of Mahakali, Mahasaraswati, and Renuka — the Divine Mother Trinity. In this holy place arose the thought to perform a Nath-Panthi Anushthan.

Since 1993, after receiving the inner command of Sadguru Vyankatnath Maharaj, Narendra Nath Maharaj has been conducting Anushthans at many spiritually powerful locations: Atri–Anusuya (Himalayas), Kuravpur, Jagannath Puri and others. Administrators at each site witnessed their transformative effects.

Similarly, the Mahurgad Anushthan was planned for 11–20 February 2022 in the presence of Goddess Renuka. The rituals included:

  • Shri Shatchandi
  • Shri Shabaridevi Kavach
  • Shri Hanuman Kavach
  • Mahimna Stotra
  • Purusha Suktam
  • Atharvashirsha
  • Solar, Rudra, and Nath-Panthi mantras

Dashansh Havan and Nath Havan were scheduled on 18, 19, and 20 February.

Divine Intervention in Physical Difficulties

Two–three days before departure, Narendra Nath Maharaj suddenly became unwell. Doctors advised one week of rest, especially considering his age (85 years). It appeared impossible for the Anushthan to proceed.

But Maharaj declared: *“Even if mountains of suffering fall on my head, I will not abandon the house of joy — Guru’s work. The work belongs to Sadguru Vyankatnath. He alone will make everything happen. I am only the instrument.”*

Within two days, his health improved miraculously, and doctors not only permitted travel but allowed him to climb the hill as well. Two important team members also fell ill — yet by Guru’s grace, each obstacle dissolved effortlessly.

Beginning of the Anushthan

When the Anushthan began, Maharaj declared: *“All of you will experience all three seasons here.”* Indeed, the first days were freezing cold, the next unbearably hot, and the final days brought unexpected rain. Residents confirmed this unusual occurrence.

The daily routine was:

  • 6:00 AM – Kakad Aarti
  • 7:00 AM – Start of Anushthan
  • 12:00 PM – Naivedya & Prasad
  • 3:00–6:30 PM – Afternoon Anushthan
  • 7:00–9:00 PM – Bhajan
  • Night – Dinner & Rest

Narendra Nath Maharaj woke at 4 AM for personal sadhana and retired around 11:30 PM, carefully overseeing everything.

He also said: *“From morning Kakad Aarti until night Bhajan, our entire program is being watched by: Bhagwan Dattatreya, Goddess Renuka, Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, Brahmadev, Samarth Madhavanath Maharaj, Sadguru Vyankatnath Maharaj, Ganapati, and the Navnaths. Their divine court is assembled here.”*

Many devotees felt this divine presence through inner experiences and auspicious signs.

The First Ever Nath-Panthi Havan Before Renuka Mata

Despite open-air bathing and shifting weather, not a single devotee felt discomfort; instead enthusiasm grew each day.

On the day of *Purnahuti*, volunteers asked: *“May we offer Naivedya at the temple today?”* The trustees responded: *“Why one day? Offer it all three days!”*

Thus, daily Naivedya was offered alongside Mahavastra, kumkum, turmeric, kajal and other sacred items.

As completion neared, Maharaj said: *“If it is Renuka Mata’s will, the Havan will be allowed directly before her. If she grants this, it will be her divine blessing upon the Nath Panth.”*

This was pure surrender — for never in history had anyone been allowed to perform an independent Havan directly before the Goddess.

But Renuka Mata first tested them with *Alp Dharishthya* — and then showered her grace:

Permission was granted.

Thus, the Nath-Panthi Havan began right before Goddess Renuka, marking a once-in-many-lifetimes event — a moment of immense spiritual fortune for all present.
