Veda – The Mother of Creation

The very origin of creation has emerged from the Vedas. Every living and non-living entity in the universe must pass through three states—creation, sustenance, and dissolution. All of these self-operating cosmic processes function under the laws of the Vedas.

The Vedas originated from the mouth of the Primordial Divine Mother (Adi-Shakti). Following the principles of these Vedas, Lord Brahma created the entire universe. Thus, the Vedas pervade all of existence—everywhere and in everything. Each mantra in the Vedas has been verified and proven by thousands of years of study by our ancestors, and the results of every practice are clearly described.

However, in this age of Kali, because of the dominance of materialism and ignorance, Dharma and the Vedic sciences are often disrespected. The preservation and transmission of the Vedas have weakened. Due to superstition, intellectual conflicts, and false showmanship in society, people’s faith in the Vedas has diminished.

Through research-based study of Vedic principles and knowledge, the aim is to understand how these principles influence human life and how they can create transformation in the human mind and behaviour. The mission of Vedic promotion is to bring this understanding to society in a simple and accessible manner, and this work is carried out under the *Om Education Society*.

A person’s destiny (prarabdha), inherent constitution (pinda), birth, death, and the fundamental principles governing all life forms in the universe are contained within the Vedas. The Vedas are *basic science*. On the basis of these fundamental truths, realised beings can perform what appears to be miraculous events—but each such event is rooted in definite laws and principles.

Understanding the nature of the Vedas, their relevance in human life, Vedic science, conclusions of Vedic research, Vedic teaching methods (traditional and non-traditional), and spreading awareness that the Vedas are the source of all knowledge and all aspects of human life—this vision led P. P. Narendranath Maharaj to establish the *Om Education Society* in 1988 in Akola.

Through this organisation, continuous efforts are made to propagate Vedic wisdom and to help humanity live happier and more prosperous lives through the guidance of the Vedas.

The Nature of the Vedas

The Vedas are *apaurusheya*—meaning “not created by any human”. The Vedas arose from the vibration (sound) emitted from the rhythmic breath of the Primordial Divine Mother (Adi-Shakti) even before the beginning of creation.

To perform the task of creation entrusted to him by Adi-Shakti, Lord Brahma performed penance on the Pranava (the sacred syllable *Om*) for 12,000 years and then created the universe according to the principles of the Vedas. Since ancient times, the Vedas have been preserved through the Gurukul tradition, transmitted orally from teacher to student.

The Vedas contain complete and perfect knowledge. The deeper meanings hidden in each syllable are still beyond the comprehension of today’s advanced sciences. The Vedas are the foundation of creation and of all life. Yet modern science tends to assume that no knowledge exists beyond its own boundaries.

For example, world-renowned physicist Stephen Hawking presented a scientific theory on the origin of the universe—yet the very same concept is already found in the *Nasadiya Sukta* (Rigveda 10.129-2) since time immemorial.

Because of this immense and profound knowledge, the Vedas are often regarded only as “religious scriptures,” while in truth, they demand and deserve extensive scientific research.
