Introduction: In everyone’s life there comes a moment where one wonders: *“Is this my fate? My past karma? My destiny?”* Despite honesty, hard work and sincerity, many still face suffering, failures and repeated obstacles. Even when one acts ethically, results may not match expectations. This creates confusion and discouragement. But when a person practices spiritual discipline, the mind becomes peaceful, courage increases and one learns to face life with inner strength.
The Vedas are the foundation of the entire creation. Since creation itself arose from Vedic sound vibrations, all beings and forces of the universe operate under Vedic influence. Understanding this, the Nath Shakti Peeth began explaining the importance of the Vedas, their practical application and how Nath teachings can transform human destiny. Although many scholars recite the Vedas beautifully, few demonstrate how Vedic mantras can restore fortune in real life. To address this, Narendranath Maharaj introduced the concept of “Applied Vedas.”
The Shakti Peeth organised programs across villages to spread Nath philosophy, Vedic knowledge and practical mantra-application for spiritual growth. Every three years they conducted a major program called Ati Sauri. From 7 AM to 2 PM daily, large havans were performed for Devi, Dattatreya, Surya, Rudra, Hanuman, Shabari and Navagraha. In the Nath tradition these deities strongly influence personality, karmic patterns, health and spiritual progress. The rituals were dedicated to world peace and welfare.
These programs were fully open—without caste, religion or social barriers. People took turns offering *ahuti*, free meals were served afterwards, Narendranath Maharaj gave evening guidance and traditional kirtans were performed. Over 10–15 days more than 100,000 people were fed. Many devotees witnessed divine forms appearing in photographs of the havan fire. So far, five Ati Sauri Mahayagas have been conducted.
Through discourses, Narendranath Maharaj explained how the Vedas originated, why they are powerful, how mantras influence destiny and how life improves through mantra application. People from many regions learned and benefited. He corrected misconceptions about the Nath tradition and taught its true philosophy. The Applied Vedas approach proved that Vedas are not only for recitation but also for transforming life, correcting negative karma, solving problems and improving fortune. Even today, Narendranath Maharaj demonstrates that any difficulty can be resolved through Vedic mantras.
Students trained at the Nath Shakti Peeth now perform rituals throughout India. They explain the purpose of rituals, their spiritual effects and the deeper meaning of traditions. People gradually gain clarity about spiritual practice. Many devotees also witness divine images in fire or photos during havan—considered a sign of Nath blessing.
For 26 years these programs continued without donations, government help or external support. Everything operated purely through Guru’s grace, and whenever financial challenges arose, solutions came naturally.
Every month a special collective havan is performed. Anyone facing personal difficulties—financial, emotional, professional or spiritual—may request a dedicated ritual. Common issues include money not staying, repeated failures, misunderstandings, work collapsing, unseen obstacles and negative influences. Many report immediate improvement: obstacles vanish, confidence increases, clarity emerges and destiny shifts.
Tapascharya (austerity) is central to the Nath tradition. Its purpose is purification of body, mind and inner self; mastery over senses; deep concentration; and alignment with divine purpose. In ancient times forests provided solitude, but today silence is rare. Therefore, modern tapascharya means living among people while remaining inwardly disciplined and detached. Vyankatanath Maharaj personally trained Narendranath in both physical and inner purification. Despite worldly changes, the Nath tradition remains active and will continue its work throughout the entire Kali Yuga, under the constant guidance of the Gurus and Lord Dattatreya.
