Gahininath

Machhindranath secured the blessings of all major deities for Gorakshanath. He enabled him to receive direct darshan of Narasha, Kalika, Mhahmada, Mahishasura, Dhoting, Vetala, Maruti and Shri Ramachandra. Lord Ramchandra himself lifted Goraksha onto his lap and blessed him, saying: “Be victorious, be renowned; may the purpose and work of the Panth be fulfilled through you.”

Ashta-Bhairava, the Matrikas, Ganapati, and Surya descended to earth and blessed him directly. Ramchandra, Suryanarayana, the 52 Veers, Indra-Varuna, Aieshani, Gandharvas, and many celestial forces bestowed their grace upon him and requested Machhindranath to initiate Goraksha into tapas-anushthan.

Through tapas, Goraksha would attain complete mastery over mantra, tantra, yantra, weapons, siddhis, and expand the power of the Nath tradition.

One day, as Gorakshanath was performing the Sanjeevani Mantra anushthan alone (Machhindranath was not present), some children approached him while playing. They were making clay toys but could not build a clay cart.

They requested Goraksha to make one for them. He agreed, and while his hands shaped the toy, his mind continued uninterrupted mantra-japa.

After finishing the cart, the children asked him to create a clay driver. Goraksha shaped a clay figure — and because of the continuous power of the Sanjeevani mantra, life manifested in the clay, and the figure became a living child.

Just as Goraksha himself was born *ayoni* (without biological lineage), the child too was born ayoni, created purely through mantra-shakti.

This miraculous child was named Karbhajannath, or Gahininath. He later became one of the most powerful Nath masters and played a pivotal role in expanding the Nath Sampradaya.

Karbhajan Narayan — Gahininath

After completing the work of the Nava-Narayanas, all powers, siddhis, disciplines, and responsibilities of the Nath Panth were passed to Gahininath, and from him to Nivruttinath.

Nivruttinath is the first Nath master born within a household, unlike earlier Naths who were all ayoni-born Siddhas manifesting directly through divine processes.

All divine and semi-divine beings who had granted boons to the earlier Nath Siddhas handed their commitments, powers, mantra-shakti, tantra-shakti, and yogic authority to Gahininath. According to Goraksha’s plan, Gahininath entrusted these to Nivruttinath.

Thus the Nath Panth continued with the same purpose, same discipline, same spiritual authority, and same divine mandate, and continues so even today through an uninterrupted guru-parampara.

Before passing on these responsibilities, Gahininath gave profound teachings for all people of Kali Yuga.

Gahininath’s Teachings: Nature of the Four Yugas

There are four Yugas — Satya, Treta, Dvapara, and Kali. In each Yuga the Supreme Being manifests in different forms, colours, names, and rituals.

Satya Yuga: - Colour: White - Four-armed form with matted hair, dressed in bark cloth - People were peaceful, free of malice, and lived through intense tapas - Names: Hansa, Suparna, Vaikuntha, Dharma, Yogeshwara, Ishvara, etc.

Treta Yuga: - Colour: Red - People practiced Vedic rituals, studied the Vedas - Divine names: Vishnu, Yajna, Pṛishnigarbha, Urukrama, Jayanta, etc.

Dvapara Yuga: - Colour: Dark complexion - People worshipped the Lord through Vedic and Tantric methods - Names: Vasudeva, Sankarshana, Pradyumna, Aniruddha, Narayana, Nara, etc.

Kali Yuga: - Colour: Shining dark-blue like Indra-neela - Surrounded by divine attendants - Worship in this Yuga is primarily through Naam-Sankirtan - His lotus feet destroy worldly miseries and fulfill desires

Gahininath emphasized: In Kali Yuga, Naam-Sankirtan alone grants liberation. Even the beings of earlier Yugas desired to be born in Kali Yuga because in this age, a single act of genuine devotion can dissolve lifetimes of karma.

Sacred rivers like Tamraparni, Kritamala, Payaswini, Kaveri, Mahanadi, and Prachichi purify countless seekers and nourish devotion to Vasudeva.

He further taught:

- One who surrenders to the Lord becomes free from all obligations — to gods, ancestors, beings, or family. - Even if a devotee accidentally commits a wrong deed, the Lord residing in his heart purifies him. - Such was the compassion-filled path that Gahininath established.

Gahininath — Karbhajan Narayan — was a master of extraordinary brilliance, enormous yogic authority, and boundless compassion. His blessings continue to guide Nath seekers even today.

By these teachings, the Nath Siddhas ensured that in Kali Yuga, humanity would have a path to upliftment and inner liberation.
