Manifesting One Person in Two Places at the Same Time

The Divine Power to Manifest Forms

Vyankatanath Maharaj once manifested the same living person in two different places simultaneously. Appearing anywhere, at any time, and assuming any form at will is a divine characteristic of Lord Dattatreya. Normally, a human body requires nine months in a mother’s womb, but Lord Dattatreya can instantly create a complete human form out of the five elements—bones, flesh, senses, mind and intellect—and dissolve it back into those same elements without leaving a trace. This phenomenon is also seen in the Nath tradition. When Gorakshanath was a child, he shaped a clay figure while playing. Due to his powerful internal mantra–sadhana, the clay form became alive as Karbhanjan Narayan, later known as Gahininath. There was no pregnancy, no birth and no biological process—only a divine body formed directly through yogic will. Such is the extraordinary power of the Nath Panth.

Dr. Ramesh Kasture’s First Experience

A similar miracle occurred with Dr. Ramesh Kasture, a medical practitioner from Patūrda (Jalgaon Jamod), who later became a disciple and successor of Ramchandra Maharaj. He narrated that one day after closing his clinic, he returned home to learn that Vyankatanath Maharaj from Devgaon Rangari had visited two or three hours earlier. His family told him that Maharaj had taken a bath, performed his rituals, eaten food and left in a small bullock cart toward Devgaon. Dr. Kasture rushed to the outskirts hoping to meet him, and villagers confirmed that Maharaj had just passed by, yet he could not catch up. Surprised, he travelled by bus to Devgaon Rangari, only to be told that Maharaj had left for Pune fifteen days earlier and had not returned at all. But his family had seen him clearly that same day. Confused and amazed, he went back to Pathardi.

The Manifestation of Narendra Chaudhary

Weeks later, while travelling toward Shirdi, the group’s bus broke down for several hours in the village of Devgaon Rangari. Remembering Maharaj, Dr. Kasture went to their home. The door was partly open, and as soon as he gently pushed it, a voice from inside called, “Come in, child — Dr. Kasture, come!” He had not even entered fully, yet Maharaj recognised him instantly. Maharaj asked where he had come from, and when Kasture replied “From Akola,” Maharaj said, “From Akola? Then how is Chaudhary?” Kasture assumed he meant Dr. Kaka Saheb Chaudhary and asked whether that person visited. Maharaj smiled and said, “Not that Chaudhary — this Chaudhary,” and gestured to his right side, adding, “Look — here he is!” Although no one had been sitting there, the moment Maharaj spoke, Narendra Chaudhary appeared, sitting alive and real beside him. Startled, Kasture exclaimed that he had known Narendra since childhood. Maharaj continued speaking to him for half a minute, and when Kasture looked again, Narendra had vanished. He searched the house but found no one, because the real Narendra was in Akola at that very moment. Maharaj had manifested Narendra’s complete living form in Devgaon Rangari simply to introduce him. This was not illusion but the yogic mastery over the five elements unique to the Nath tradition. Kasture later visited Narendra’s home and confirmed every detail.

The Spiritual Meaning Behind the Miracle

This incident demonstrated that Maharaj could appear in multiple places simultaneously, and that he could also manifest another person’s body in more than one location. Both occurred at the same time: Maharaj was physically in Pune and appearing in Patūrda, while Narendra was physically in Akola and appearing in Devgaon Rangari. These events reveal the profound spiritual power of the Nath Panth and the divine qualities of Lord Dattatreya. Such miracles are not ancient myths; they happened in our own times. Meeting such Yogeshwaras is never accidental. Only a pure mind and sincere heart can witness such spiritual truths.
