During his lifetime (1936–1993), Shri Samarth Yogabhyanand Vyankatnath Maharaj demonstrated many profound yogic powers. One well-known incident in Akola shows the true siddhi (spiritual mastery) of the Nath Sampradaya. A married couple once came for darshan. They had no children and, according to medical diagnosis, could never have any. Doctors had confirmed that the woman was born without a uterus, making pregnancy impossible in this lifetime.
But Nath Maharaj had already made his decision.
He applied sacred ash (vibhuti) to the woman, gave her a blessed coconut, and told the couple: “In two years, your cradle will swing.”
When asked why two years, he replied: “The organ that should have formed at birth was not present. I must create it first. Only when it is fully developed can the next stage happen.”
Exactly as he said — two years later, the woman gave birth to a daughter. Later, she also gave birth to a son. This is the unique greatness of the Nath Sampradaya. What is impossible for science, Nath Yogis accomplish effortlessly. Even today, the Nath lineage remains active, though many do not recognize it simply because they have not come in contact with true Nath saints.
Machhindranath initiated Goraksha, giving him guru-upadesh and the Nath diksha. Then he took the young yogi with him on pilgrimage. The power of this event is astonishing. A fully formed twelve-year-old boy appeared from a refuse pit (ukirda) — without ever being born through a womb — simply through a handful of vibhuti energized by divine mantra. Science cannot even imagine such a possibility.
