The Space Element (Ākāśa Tattva)

The influence of the Space element begins from birth. Above the four great elements — Earth, Water, Fire, and Air — stands the Space element. Everything exists under Space. Planets, stars, and constellations all reside within the Space element.

The effect of the Space element remains the same across all four Yugas — Satya, Treta, Dvapara, and Kali. Thus, this element influences all divisions of creation equally. Every planet, constellation, and star is an inherent part of the Space element.

Based on the constellation (Nakshatra) under which a child is born, the child’s name and zodiac sign (Rāśi) are determined. Now let us look at the qualities of each planet and how these planets influence human life and personality.

Every living being receives specific effects from the planets. Each planet moves within the solar system, and depending on its position in the zodiac, it influences a person’s behaviour, speech, thoughts, character, and personality.

1. Sun (Ravi)

The Sun is the king of the planetary system. All planets revolve around it. From the Sun we understand:

The Sun reveals whether a person is fearless, honest, or just.

If the Sun is unfavorable:

2. Moon (Chandra)

The Moon governs the mind. It controls mental stress, emotional states, and travels, especially foreign travel and journeys by water.

It influences the stomach, breasts, and brain.

If the Moon is unfavourable:

3. Mars (Mangal)

Mars reveals younger siblings’ welfare, married life, leadership abilities, and professions like soldiers, doctors, scientists, metal workers, and craftsmen.

It is linked to war, earthquakes, and fire-related events. It influences legal troubles, imprisonment, and violent death. Mars affects the bladder, bleeding disorders, and epidemics.

If Mars is unfavourable:

4. Mercury (Budh)

Mercury is naturally intelligent but neuter in nature. It governs intellect, writing, mathematics, law, and communication.

It controls the nervous system, lungs, intestines, and tongue.

If Mercury is unfavourable:

5. Jupiter (Guru)

Jupiter grants joy, wisdom, philosophy, sciences, arts, success, fame, and peace.

It influences jaundice, diabetes, blood pressure, smallpox, measles, etc.

If Jupiter is unfavourable:

6. Venus (Shukra)

Venus indicates women, luxury, sensuality, worldly pleasures, music, arts, literature, vehicles, intoxicants, gambling, perfumes, ornaments, sexual vitality, and menstruation.

If Venus is unfavourable:

7. Saturn (Shani)

Saturn grants discipline, practicality, serious thinking, and persistence. It is connected to lawyers, scientists, mathematics, mysticism, and depression.

It influences joint pain, asthma, paralysis, heart disease, and piles.

If Saturn is unfavourable:

8 & 9. Rahu and Ketu

These are not planets but nodal points. In a horoscope they play a very important role.

They indicate poisonous creatures, occult sciences, memory loss, blindness, paralysis, insanity, poisoning, suicide, and spirit disturbances.

When well placed, they bring immense wealth and success.

Rahu Remedies:

Ketu Remedies: - Same as Rahu — chant, donate, worship, and perform Rudra.

Importance of Direction and Timing in Planetary Worship

Because Yugas and the Five Elements influence life so powerfully, planetary worship becomes highly effective when performed at the correct direction and time.

Specific plants also influence specific zodiac signs. Worship performed beneath these plants adds great benefit.

If worship under a tree is impossible, keep a piece of the plant — bark, twig, leaf, flower, or root — and worship it daily.

Plants arise from the Earth element, and through the Five Elements they have strong cosmic influence.
