In earlier articles, it was explained that among the four great elements — Earth (Bhumi), Water (Aap), Fire (Tej), and Air (Vāyu) — the twelve zodiac signs are divided. Accordingly:

• • Water element: Pisces (Meena), Scorpio (Vrishchika), Cancer (Karka)
• • Fire element: Aries (Mesha), Leo (Simha), Sagittarius (Dhanu)

Today we consider the Earth–element signs.

### Earth Element Signs: Vrishabha – Kanya – Makara During Satyayuga, the Earth element was predominant. Its inherent nature (*nija-guna*) is Truth (Satya).

Those belonging to Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn should perform their spiritual practices facing East.

• • All important activities of life should begin from the East.
• • Study, meditation and spiritual discipline must begin facing East.

### Auspicious Times for Earth–Element Signs These signs receive the best results during the first half of the lunar month — the *Shukla Paksha*. Worship and important tasks should preferably be done during the bright fortnight.

Daily worship should continue throughout all twelve months.

The day has four prahar:

• 1. Sunrise → Midday
• 2. Midday → Sunset
• 3. Sunset → Midnight
• 4. Midnight → Sunrise

Cosmic movement continuously affects all five elements and all beings.

For Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn, the most fruitful time for worship is:

### Breath (Nadi) Influence There are two nadis:

• • Left nostril (Ida) → Chandra Nadi
• • Right nostril (Pingala) → Surya Nadi

Breath naturally shifts from one nostril to the other throughout the day.

For Earth–element people, Chandra Nadi is favourable.

During Chandra Nadi:

• • Study
• • Planning
• • All important actions

should be performed.

If Chandra Nadi is not active, close the right nostril lightly and activate the left before beginning work.

### Sensory Tendencies of Earth–Element Signs Their primary inclination is toward taste, food and the tongue. To reduce the intensity of karmic cycles, this desire should be controlled. These people should practice regular charity through food donation.

### Daily Worship All three signs should recite the mantra of the Divine Mother:

“ॐ ऐं र्‍हिं क्लिं चामुंडायै विच्चे” 108 repetitions daily.

A pilgrimage to Jagannath Puri at least once in life is especially beneficial. Pilgrimage brings mental stability, calmness and enthusiasm.

Sant Dnyaneshwar, a Yugapurusha, embodied Earth–element qualities. Regular reading of the Dnyaneshwari is recommended.
