Shri Prashantji Hartalkar

The Nath Shaktipeeth has rendered a true service to the nation by organizing Sanskrit classes. This was the message expressed by *Shri Prashant Hartalkar*, International General Secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. He was speaking during the special Sanskrit class arranged as part of the Dwi-Tapahpoorti celebrations and the Sahasra-Chandra-Darshan Ceremony of P. P. Shri Narendranath Maharaj.

Sanskrit, he said, is the language of the Indian civilization and the mother of many world languages. Sanskrit connects people. Through love for a language, bonds of friendship and cultural unity become stronger. A language shapes national character, cultural pride, and a deep sense of identity. Therefore, every individual should strive to preserve and nurture it.

This special “Learn Sanskrit with Joy” initiative was organized by the Yajneshwar Jnanopasana University of the Nath Shaktipeeth. The well-known scholar from Pune, *Jnanamaharshi Pandit Vasantrao Gadgil*, was the instructor for the class.

On the main stage were:

P. P. Shri Moreswarbuwa Charholikar Maharaj expressed confidence that this “Sanskrit Speech-Yajna” conducted by the Shaktipeeth will help create students with refined intellect and good moral values.

While speaking, Pandit Vasantrao Gadgil reminded the audience that Sanskrit is the mother of many international languages, and that Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar—creator of the Indian Constitution—had strongly advocated that Sanskrit should become the national language of India. India today has its national anthem, flag, bird, and many symbols, yet even after 70 years of independence, a national language has not been formally declared. He appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help fulfill Dr. Ambedkar’s unfulfilled dream.

The session began with a collective Saraswati Vandana by the students. Introduction, compering, and the vote of thanks were offered by H. B. P. Gajanan Kulkarni.

“By organizing Sanskrit classes, the Nath Shaktipeeth has truly served the nation.”
