Man spends his entire day looking at the external world, finding faults in others, and running tirelessly for his own sensory pleasure. But Maharaj says that as long as your vision does not turn 'inward,' you will never find lasting peace. In these teachings, Maharaj has held up a mirror to our souls.
1. Destiny and Divine Planning Everything that happens in our lives is a part of our past accumulations (Prarabdha). Maharaj explains that “what is meant to happen, will happen.” We worry without cause. When a person begins to trust in Divine planning, half of their miseries end right there. Once we realize we are merely an 'instrument' (Nimitta), the veil of ego drops away.
2. The Power of the Name and Mental Focus Just as the body cannot function without food, the mind cannot become pure without the 'Name.' Maharaj places immense emphasis on Nama-Smaran (remembrance of the Divine Name). The Name is not just a movement of the lips; it must be a deep realization within the heart. When you are anchored in the Name, the storms of the external world cannot steal your inner silence. This is the true 'shield' of life.
3. Guru-Bhakti: An Unbreakable Bond The Sadguru is not just a guide; He is the guardian of your soul. Maharaj says, “Take one step toward Him, and He will take ten steps toward you.” But this step must be one of absolute trust. A disciple must mortgage his intellect at the feet of the Guru. Where logic ends, the journey of direct experience (Anubhuti) begins.
4. Instructions for Daily Conduct Perform your worldly duties with honesty, but do not attach yourself to the results. Do not insult anyone, for the same Divine resides in every heart. Spend at least a few moments every day in absolute silence, searching within yourself. This silence will protect you from the chaos of the world.
5. The Message for Today: Do not be afraid, for you are not alone. The grace of the Sadguru is with you like a shadow. Simply keep your gaze fixed upon Him. One who is colored in His Name will never drown in this ocean of worldly existence.
Do not run after external pleasures; seek the treasure of bliss within. Your 'Vyankatesh' is waiting for there.
